The afternoon spent with an elderly guest

Implementing the activities based on COMENIUS multicultural partnership amongst schools project Nr LLP-COM-DP-2013-LT-00193, on the first days of December Plunges technology and business school invited our former teacher, who is already retired, Mrs Vanda Balandiene to come to school. She acquainted the students with old Christmas Eve dishes and their cooking process as well as the traditions our nation had.
During the meeting both students and the guest had not only the opportunity to gain other communication experience, but also to get wisdom, to transfer their thoughts back to the past times in which our ancestors lived. Students became better aware of the differences between the past and out modern lifestyle.
The afternoon spent with an elderly guest proved that generations of different age and of different experience can find common topics for discussion, comunicate and know each other better.

MY SUMMERS TO REMEMBER COMEBACK IN PHOTOS

When I look at the pictures, which I call "with my grandparents in the village, I always go back to the thoughts of my  childhood summers. All the summers in the village were all wonderfully unusual. Early in the morning we used to take cattle in the meadows. We used to feed chickens listening to the  strange their chuckle. In evenings often played chess or cards.

Now, almost every weekend I and my girlfriend visit my grandparents. They are always  waiting for us. And we every time have a fun spending an hour or two together. We help to bring firewood, make fire in the kiln together, drink tea, play chess, review old photo album, or just have fun  talking. We have so much common experience of the past.

Find the time to talk and listen

Find the time to talk and listen
I would like to describe my grandmother`s and my relationship which I appreciate very much. My grandmother takes a big part of my life because now I am living with her,but our communication was always good. From now when I moved into her house we have more time to talk about everything. Most often we talk about my day at school, sometimes we talk about my future. It was always easy for me to communicate with older people. In today`s life of technology it’s quite hard for young people to talk with older persons because our beliefs are different. Older people are calmer, they live more slowly than young people which tolerate faster life. So, I think my grandmother tolerates my choice and hobbies because we find time to talk and understand each other.

A Visit to Sweden

In September (22-25) four teachers from Plunge technology and business school went to Sweden, to Lund on Comenius Project „I Teach You, You Teach Me: Share Wisdom and life”. Partners from Romania, Poland, Italy, Spain, Hungary, Turkey, Lithuania and Sweden met for the fourth visit as the Project has been going on for the second year.
On the first visit day we visited Vipan vocational school in Lund, where we were met by the school headmaster and the project coordinator Martin Martinez. We were shown round the school where we saw how disabled students are integrated in the learning process of the vocational school. We were impressed by sincere and friendly relationship among students and teachers.A well-planned program enabled the project participants not only to fulfill the project activities but also to know the country, its beauty and culture. We visited  Lund City Hall, where the City Council president Annika Annerby-Jansson told about the city, citizens and the prospects of development. Also we went on guided sightseeing trip round Lund city to see the Old City architecture, the Cathedral, Culture museum and other interesting places. As well as Lund, we had a great possibility to visit Osterlen, Malmo and Kopenhagen .In Copenhagen we managed to see the Queen Guard changing ceremony at 12p.m  .Also we were impressed by its architecture. All the partners could share ideas and experience during dinner meals which reflected Swedish kitchen peculiarities. We were impressed by the activity when the teams of delegations had to cook meals together. We enjoyed the visit activities very much. We were assisted everywhere by the hosts` care, warmth, hospitality and friendliness. The time passed very quickly because we had a very interesting and useful program not only for teachers but for students too. .We left Sweden full of impressions.
